WineDiscovery 2008 raised funds for scholarships for deserving Carroll and Northwest ISD students; other causes include GRACE, Metroport Meals on Wheels, and the Roanoke Food Pantry. The Southlake Historical Society was created in 1992 as a preservation group and a way to gather and preserve Southlake’s history. Since that time the Southlake Historical Society has been dedicated to archiving historical materials including scanning historical photos, gathering oral history interviews, helping in the research of both family and area business histories, developing programs for teachers and students, and working as the community advocacy group to preserve and protect Southlake’s history. The Southlake Historical Society meets at 7 p.m. on the third Monday of each month in the Community Center in Bicentennial Park.

The Southlake Women’s Club, Inc. is a non-profit organization committed to providing community support and involvement through participation, service, charitable contributions, and special events, as well as to cultivating fellowship since 1985. The annual School Supply Sale has generated over $300,000 to purchase materials for grades K-8 and for students needing assistance; since the spring of 2000, the club has hosted the annual Southlake event, "Art in the Square." The Southlake Youth Action Commission (SYAC) was created in 1994 by City Council to generate broad-base public awareness of and support for youth. SYAC is advisory in nature, evaluating current issues affecting youth in Southlake and bringing them to the attention of the City Council and other Boards & Commissions as necessary. The Commission also participates in community service projects to encourage youth to make a difference in the community through volunteerism. SPIN is a nonpartisan, City Council-appointed volunteer organization comprised of representatives from 16 geographic areas within the City of Southlake. The purpose of SPIN is to provide a vehicle for facilitating communication between residents and the City staff. SPIN sponsors area meetings to address issues pertinent to specific neighborhoods, such as development projects, as well as forums for issues affecting the entire city.
